Space,light,andthepatiencetogetbothright.
An architecture and interior design studio for people who would rather wait a year than compromise a threshold. Houses, pavilions, hotels and workplaces — designed slowly, built to weather.

Philosophy
Three quiet rules
We are not a large studio and we do not intend to become one. What we have instead is a short set of convictions, held for fifteen years, that every project is measured against.
- 01
Light before form
We begin every project by mapping where the light will fall in December. The plan is drawn around those hours. Form arrives later, and it arrives quieter.
- 02
Fewer, heavier materials
Three materials, chosen for how they age, will outlast twelve chosen for how they photograph. We specify stone, timber and metal that are allowed to weather.
- 03
Patience is a structure
The right building takes longer. We schedule for it. A studio that is not in a hurry can afford to get the thresholds, the joints and the silence right.
