Narrative

A workshop and studio for a furniture maker, framed entirely in Siberian larch.

Larch Studio is a workshop for a Copenhagen furniture maker who wanted a building that would smell like the work. It is framed, clad, floored and lined in larch, sourced from a single Siberian forestry cooperative, and designed so that the maker's own joinery can finish the interior over time.

The plan is a long shed with a sawtooth roof, north-lit, with the machine hall at one end and a quiet drawing room at the other. Between them a covered yard opens to the street so that passers-by can see the work being done.

The project is in design; planning was granted in the summer of 2026, and construction is expected to begin the following spring.
